Welcome to our first half termly SFH6 newsletter
This term we began by celebrating our best ever A level results and some fantastic progression for our students into University and Apprenticeships. We also welcomed our wonderful new Year 12 with two induction days run by 'live n learn'. This really helped our students think about the skills and attitudes they will need to develop to be successful in the 6th form. It was also lovely to meet all our new sixth form parents at the end of September and we look forward to working closely with you over the next two years.
Our Year 13 students have been working hard on their UCAS applications, researching courses and writing their personal statements. Students who are applying to Oxbridge or Medicine have already sent their applications off and are now waiting for news!
20 Year 13 students have also begun the new Extended Project Course (EPQ). This involves students in developing, researching and carrying out a project of their own choice. Students' projects look like being fascinating, covering topics from ancient French History to Solar energy and to the impact of Margaret Thatcher on our economy!
SFH6 Ambassadors
Over 40 sixth formers have now successfully applied to become SFH6 Ambassadors. These students are all keen to take on a leadership role around the two schools and have already supported both schools with their Year 6 open events. In future these students will be seen in their new red T Shirts representing the sixth form at a wide range of events.
